And Madhushaala continues ..

Pyale ko haathon mein lekar, adharon se choo loon haalaa
Aankhein moond kar dekhoon usko, kitnee pyaari saaqui-baalaa
Pal mein tola pal mein maasaa, yehi athkhelee karti hai
Tez bhaagtaa main usko choone, aur tez nikaltee madhushaala

Chir-parichit apnee adaaon se mohit mujko kartee hai
Moh-paash ke paash ko kastee us par haalaa
Mohit ho main peeche chaltaa, aage chaltee saaqui-baalaa
Jis dwaar se nikloon ghar ko us dwaar pe miltee madhushaala

Thodi-thodi kehta saaqui, khalee karta jo main pyaale par pyaalaa
Madhu-kalash bhar jaate kshan mein peetaa main jo haalaa
Saansarik kolahal shaant ho jaata, jab chootee madhu jeehwah
Taptee garmee mein sheetal chaaya jaisee meri madhushaala

An addition to Madhushaalaa

This post of mine is an addition to the antique piece of work named 'Madhushaalaa' by Late Shree Harivansh Rai Bachchan. This addition is not intended to any how disgrace the phenomenal work of Mr. Bachchan but a point of view of my own. Right before I wrote the following lines I was reading 'Madhushaalaa', and as we all know that it surely is one of the master-pieces of work in Hindi poetry. If read carefully each para of Madhushaalaa will convey a different meaning / message and each meaning of each para of this marvel work is true to what it conveys. I would like to salute Mr. Bachchan on his efforts to put carefully chosen words to deliver Madhushaalaa to Hindi Literature.

Samajh nahee payaa main haalaa
Na hee main samjha pyaalaa
Na samajha main saaquee ko
Na main samjha madhushaalaa

Jigyaasaa shant karne kee khatir
Main aaj gaya thaa madhushaalaa

Maine diya tha pyaalaa khud ko
Main hee thaa peenewala
Main banaa khud apnaa saaquee
Main madhu-vikretaa, main madhushaalaa

Jab main niklaa madhushaalaa se
Yaad rahe kuch shabd mujhe
Meraa haala mera pyaalaa
Mera saaquee meri madhushaala

Ek ichha ..

This is another work by JS a.k.a. Dushman .. great work again .. you are really doing great .. keep it up.

Ek ichha ..

Ho jaatee agar dil ki har muraad pooree
Na hota ghum na hotee yeh dooree
Beh jaate samandar aasuoon ke
Ghum ke naheen khushiyon ke

Sailaab aa jaataa ashkon kaa
Beh jaata samandar jazbaaton kaa
Dabe hue har khayaal kaa
Jise anadar samaye baithe rahe
Din maheene saal ka naheen
Hisaab thaa yeh janamon kaa

Pooraa kar lene do yeh khwaab aankhon kaa
Jo soye naheen hain kai raaton se
Piya hai ghoont jisne lahoo kaa
Kasoor inkaa naheen is dil ka thaa
Kiye har jatan duniyaa waalon ne
Samjhaanaa chaha par bekaar thaa

Mat samjho ise na-samajh doston
Jo maang baitha hai yeh dil
Woh to khudaa thaa
Har dil mein jo bastaa hai
Har ghar mein woh rehtaa hai
Phir kya galat yeh mera rishtaa hai

Khamoshi khud apni ...

This post is a mind blowing ghazal sung by amazing Jagjit Singh. I really like it and that's why I'm posting it here. I dont know who is the writer, so if you know then please let me know so I can put his / her name in credit.

Khamoshi khud apni ...

Khamoshi khud apni sadaa ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai
Sannataa hee goonj raha ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai

Mera maazee mujhse bichad kar kya jaane kis haal mein hai
Meri tarha woh bhee tanhaa ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai

Sehra sehraa kab taq main dhoondhoon ulfat ka ik aalam
Aalam aalam ik sehraa ho aise bhee ho sakta hai

Ehle toofan soch rahe hain saahil doobaa jaata hai
Khud unka dil doob raha ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai

Khamoshi khud apni sadaa ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai
Sannataa hee goonj raha ho aisa bhee ho saktaa hai

Shaam-e-jaam

Saaqui intizaar karta hai tera shaam-e-jaam,
Hasrat bhari nazar se dekhta tujhko shaam-e-jaam,
Deedaar-e-yaar ko tarastaa hai shaam-e-jaam,
Fikr mein teri har pal marta hai shaam-e-jaam,
Khaalee hokar bhee kitnaa bharaa hua hai shaam-e-jaam.

Rishtey aur Hum

This is a poem by JS a.k.a. Dushman - Good job dear dushman .. Keep it up:

Rishtey aur hum

Rishtey yeh bas mann ka ek veham hain
Sachai bas yeh hai ki akele, bas akele hee hum hain

Aise main koi saathi mil jataa hai
Dost - Mehboob - Maa - Baap se dil jud jaate hain

Phir bhi waqt aisa aa hi jaata hai
Jab dil ko koi bhi nahi bhaata hai

Unhi rishto mai ab dum ghunth sa jaata hai
Kyunki - rishtey yeh bas mann ka ek veham hain
Sachai bas yeh hai ki akele, bas akele hi hum hain ...

Koi tumse poochey ....

This is amongst the most phenominal work of words I've seen in recent times. Very simple words carrying the extreme weight of emotions. I found it in *****'s [name with held to retain privacy] orkut profile. I'm posting this after taking her consent. The writer of this poem is not known to either of us as she too found this somewhere on the internet. If any of you know the name of the person who wrote it, then please let me know, I'll me more than happy to put a name instead of 'unknown'. I hope you will like his / her work.

Koi tumse poochey...

Koi tumse pooche kaun hoon main,
Tum keh dena koi khaas naheen.

Ek dost hai kaccha pakka saa,
Ek jhooth hai aadhaa saccha saa.

Jazbaaton ko dhaanpey ek pardaa,
Bus ek bahanaa accha saa.

Jeevan ka ek aisa saathi hai,
Jo door na ho kar paas naheen.

Koi tumse pooche kaun hoon main,
Tum keh dena koi khaas naheen.

Hawa ka ek suhana jhonkha hai,
Kabhi naazuk toh kabhi toofaanon saa.

Shaql dekh kar jo nazrein jhukaa le,
Kabhee apna toh kabhee begaanon saa.

Zindgee ka ek aisa humsafar,
Jo samandar hai, par dil ko uskee pyaas naheen.

Koi tumse pooche kaun hoon main,
Tum keh dena koi khaas naheen.

Ek saathee jo ankahee kuch baatein keh jaataa hai,
Yaadon me jiska ek dhundhla chehra reh jaataa hai.

Yuh toh uske naa hone kaa kuch gam naheen,
Par kabhee-kabhee aankhon se ansu ban ke beh jaata hai.

Yuh rehta toh mere tassavur me hai,
Par in aankho ko uski talaash naheen.

Koi tumse pooche kaun hoon main,
Tum keh dena koi khaas naheen.

To a friend far away

This post is a poem I read in 'Delhi Times' or 'Saturday Times' of Times of India published in December 1996. I don't know the name of the poet as I didn't really bothered to copy who wrote the darn thing. It is amongst one of the poems I actually never understood. What made me read it was the title of the poem - 'To a friend far away', it intreagued me, made me ask questions - what is it about a friend who is far away; why he (the poet) is writing something for him / her; what is there which is so important for him to convey to the audience through a poem; etc. It is certainly written with finesse. If you understand the meaning of this work, please do care to explain it to me. The poem follows:

To a friend far away

Between official letters, I doodle the wet,
Wild tendrils of a familiar alphabet:

I leaf through books, watch the sand
Run as I read small print inked on your hand:

Breathing the sulphur of the city fumes,
I sense your far away breathing rhythms

Quicken as you turn and round,
Looking for a child in the market crowd:

Hear oceans lash between now and now,
Groping in the mist for what I can know,

Do, or be, when affections find a bird,
Tiny, button-eyed, city-bewildered,

Green-yellow, hopping in the yard: I take it
Home in a kerchief to a check ered blanket,

May be only to find it dead,
By morning in the twist and fold

Of my confusions my absent presence,
Far away rivers amok in my continents.

Dooree

Pukarta hai khamoshiyon mein woh tera naam
Zikr karta hai woh tera tanhaaiyon mein har ek shaam

Dil ye kehta hai woh humko awaaz deta hai
Be-chain roohon ko hai naseeb kahan aaraam

Chod kar jo jaa raha hai tere shehar ko woh
Ummeed hai usko ki deedaar ho jaayega tera

Par ye bhee jaanta hai woh ki tu aa na paayegaa
Aakri waqt par aan padega koi zaroori kaam

Abhivyakti - 2

Baandh raha hoon parchaaiyon ko main kacche dhaagon mein
Dhool khaatee hui tasveeron ko dhoondh raha hoon andheri galiyaaron mein

Ukertaa hoon apnee soch aur apne sapnon ko behtee huee fizaaon mein
Kabhie dekhtaa hoon apna jeewan teri likhee kahaaniyon mein

Bikhartee hui zindagee ko samet-taa hoon ret ki tarha muththiyon mein
Run-jhun run-jhun ka sangeet suntaa hoon bacchon kee kilkaariyon mein

Pyasaa hee khada reh jaataa hoon main tip-tip karte saawaan mein
Mrigeechikaaon** ke peeche bhaagta rehtaa hoon sehraaon mein

Rang birangee is duniyaa mein mujhko bus do rang mile
Unhee rangon se rach letaa hoon rachnaaen kaagaz kee deewaaron mein
