A house existed there

This is my first poem I ever wrote when I was in 12th preparing for my board exams:

A house existed there

A house existed there,
In the corner of the village,
Near the flowing lake of water,
A house existed there.

Used for long
By an old man,
For living,
Rather,
Passing his time,
Waiting for death,
To come and grab his life,
Just like a tiger pouncing on an infant deer,
A house existed there.

Here, he used to have his kitchen,
There, he used to sleep,
These are the pieces of the cup,
In which he used to drink
His tea - sugar less - tea less,
These are the rags of his shirt,
He used to wear,
A house existed there.

Now, nature has turned it in ruins,
Now, the tatters haunted there,
A house existed there,
A house existed there,
A house existed there.
